What Makes a Cargo Pant?

Cargo pants are traditionally made using cotton or a cotton-wool blend that offers protection from extreme weather conditions and rigorous working environments. Their most noticeable feature is one or more square pockets sewn onto the outer legs of the pants, typically secured with a zipper or flap.

The Origin of Cargo Pants

Cargo pants have been around for almost 100 years, also known as cargo trousers or combat pants. Originally used by the British Armed Forces in the late 1930s, they provided ample pocket room for carrying supplies while keeping hands free. American paratroopers adopted the design during World War II, and cargo pants soon became standard military attire in the United States.

In the 1990s, cargo pants made the leap from workwear to streetwear, inspiring both classic and edgy looks. Today, they remain a staple for utility in professions like painting, policing, EMS, firefighting, medical, and construction work.

Customer Testimonial

"Just what I needed for work. Longest lasting pants I've had. It gets pretty rough on the field but so far, nothing a quick wash hasn't fixed yet. Bought same pant 5 times and rotate them throughout the week."
